Imagine building your dream home, only to discover that the foundation beneath it isn't strong enough to withstand a storm. In Matthew 7, Jesus tells a story about two men who build houses. One builds on solid rock, while the other builds on sand. Both houses face the same rain, wind, and floods, but only the house built on rock remains standing.

The story reminds us that what we build our lives on matters.

Jesus teaches that faith is more than simply knowing about Him or calling Him Lord. It's about listening to His words and putting them into practice.

Following Jesus doesn't mean life will always be easy. We will all face challenges, disappointments, and difficult seasons. But when our lives are built on Jesus Christ, we have a foundation that can remain strong even when everything around us feels uncertain.

Just like building a house, a strong foundation requires work that isn't always visible. Prayer, generosity, obedience, and the everyday choices we make all play a part in strengthening our relationship with God.

The message is simple: We don't earn God's love through good works. His grace is freely given through Jesus Christ. But that love invites us to live differently.

Life's storms are inevitable, but we can choose what we build our lives upon. The question is: Are we building on something that will last?
