Bellevue Foursquare Church: Podcasts & Services

Hi all,

As you may already know, we are in the process of considerably enhancing the church’s web site to allow for improvements in the following areas:
1. Search Engine Tracking and Optimization - allowing the entire web site to serve as a traffic drawing system.
2. Improve site “freshness” and allow for easier, and more rapid updates.
3. Improve site administration broadness to allow church staff members to update their own pages. An example: A new Children’s Church program is created, so the Children’s church staff should be able to update their own pages, without needing to go through me to update their pages. Another example might be needing to update staff pages with new staff members, etc.
4. Allow for a customized home page experience for each church member, where he or she can go into the site and choose specific areas (e.g. Adult ministries, missions, children’s church, Youth, etc.) that they are interested in and have the home page for them customized to fit their interests.
5. Allow for easier and quicker implementation of church sites for the Spanish, Korean, Iranian, and Messianic churches.

To perform these updates, the main church web site will need to go offline over the next 10 days. This outage will NOT be complete, for the following church Internet functions will remain unaffected by the change:

1. Email: Email runs on a completely separate system which will NOT be impacted by these changes.
2. Church Podcasts and Sermons: While the main page will no longer be there to LINK to the blogs and sermons, the ACTUAL SERMONS and PODCASTS location will still be up and running. To access it, please continue to go to: http://www.bellevuechurch.org/blogs.
3. Church Forums: Again, the main page will not show a link to the forums immediately, however, the forums will continue to remain up and running at: http://www.bellevuechurch.org/forums.

Additionally, this switchover may take less than 10 days, but I feel that 10 days is enough time to move content over to the new system, create the new user login accommodations create and implement the new calendaring system, create a new template, and integrate with the blogs.

This will begin from today over the next 10 days. I will update you all on when the switchover is completed.
